Week5: Various persuasive messages received during the National Day
This persuasive message was from my WeChat moment. My friend went to eat Sukiyaki and won the first prize in the lottery, and the prize was to eat another 128 yuan sukiyaki.
The primary goal of this persuasive
message is to encourage customers to consume in the restaurant by
showcasing the possibility of winning prizes through a lottery system. It aims
to achieve increased customer loyalty and frequent revisits by the excitement
of a winning experience.
The strength of this
message reflected in the post is a
testimonial from a friend, which adds credibility and social validation to the
restaurant's offering. Additionally, the lottery system strives a sense of
excitement of winning a prize can evoke positive emotions associated with the
dining experience.
The weakness of this
message was the message focused on a one-time
event rather than building long-term customer relationships.
If I were the restaurant manager, I would share
the post on platforms where the target audience is active and consider using
targeted ads to reach potential customers who may be interested in the type of
cuisine offered.
This persuasive message was from my Xiaohongshu.
It was reported that coriander-flavored starchy sausage came to the top search.
The primary goal of this persuasive
message is to capitalize on the extraordinary of cilantro-flavored starch
sausage trending on social media to create a sense of curiosity among potential
customers. The campaign aims to drive sales by stimulating consumers to try
this unique product.
The strength of this
message reflected in the cilantro flavor is
an unconventional choice for a starch sausage, which can motivate interest
and create a buzz.
The weakness of this
message was not everyone likes cilantro, and for
those who don't like it, this could be a turn-off rather than a draw.
If I were the influencer, I would craft
a narrative that emphasizes the unique flavor experience and possibly the story
behind the creation of the cilantro sausage.
The persuasive message came from the Lay's
potato chips I had just bought, with a gift on the package that said open the packaging
bag to win another packet of Lay's chips.
The primary goal of this persuasive
message is to incentivize customers to purchase the Lays chips by offering them the
chance to win a free bag through the "Win a Free Bag" promotion. It
aims to increase sales volume and promote repeat purchases by existing
customers.
The strength of this message reflected in
the promise of a potential free product significantly increases the perceived
value of the purchase.
The weakness of this message was if
customers think the chances of winning might be very low, the promotion may not
be as effective.
If I were the designer, I would use
exciting and persuasive language to describe the promotion, such as
"Luck's in the bag! Open for your chance to enjoy more Lays for
free!"
